A motorcycle used to be your workhorse, sporting equipment, ticket to travel, and social life – all wrapped into one neat package. That motorcycle is long gone.

You now have more choice than ever before, but all of your options are in some way limited. No one bike does it all. You can have great touring comfort at the cost of practicality; dirt capability without Tarmac finesse; sporting ability that arthritic wrists or the speed limits can’t handle; or any number of other options, but you can’t have it all in one bike. Maybe you never could, but the distinction between the intended uses of bikes is now even more apparent.
