Celebrating eight decades of motorsport is this amazing two-day event, with an array of highlights this year that include the Jaguar Classic Challenge, the ‘Mad Jack’ Pre-War Sports Car series, the Historic Touring Car Challenge (for ’70s and ’80s racers), the Amon Cup for Ford GT40s, the ’60s Touring Car Challenge, and the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy.

Car clubs are welcome to attend, with space available for displays of members’ cars, and all visitors will get to witness plenty of close-fought historic racing action. You can save money on your ticket by pre-booking in advance. Single-day adult tickets start at £25, with two-day passes available from £40 each. Children under 13 are admitted free of charge. British Mini Day

May 8

Taking place at its usual venue of Himley Hall, near Dudley, this year’s British Mini Day will be marking the 30th anniversary of the British Mini Club. Open to all types of Minis and their many different variants, from the originals of 1959 through to the very latest, the show is a celebration of all things Mini.

The main show arena will host the Premier Concours section, with 10 different classes covering all ages of Mini, plus there’ll be a Mini Show ’n’ Shine in which cars will be displayed according to their decade.
