IN MAY 2002, looking to Lita as inspiration, Becky Lynch took her very first wrestling class. The Irish “Lasskicker” knew that wrestling would save her from stumbling down a hard path full of poor choices and poor health, but she had no idea how successful she would become within the worlds of wrestling and entertainment.

Lynch spent the subsequent 18 years building up a tough skin, a professional wrestling skillset, a gift of the gab, and an unrivaled fight-or-die spirit. Making her way through NXT, Becky Lynch helped lead the “revolution” of women’s wrestling to WWE’s main roster, developing a following of fans loyal to female athleticism and inner strength.

In 2018, those loyal fans grew to outstanding numbers, after Lynch debuted the moniker “The Man.” As “The Man,” she claimed to be the top wrestler of the company, and it didn’t take long for that statement to turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy. Lynch quickly became the most popular star in WWE, almost universally beloved.

Then, in May 2020, still on top of her game, “The Man” announced she would be leaving wrestling for a short while to become a new mother. Fans were shocked by the announcement, but Lynch, knowing her worth, remained focused on her dream of starting a family—determined to come back stronger than ever.

In 2021, Lynch did just that, boldly entering the ring at SummerSlam after 16 months’ absence, defeating rising star Bianca Belair for the Smackdown Women’s championship in just 26 seconds. Well over six months into her return, Lynch wore the Raw Women’s championship and was determined to prove to her peers she will always remain at the
