‘It’s not a Valkyrie, but it’s as close as you can get.’ So begins the website description of this reassuringly expensive boxed set of four volumes, one of the priciest productions ever to grace these reviews. But the authors do have a point. They spent five years following the Aston Martin Valkyrie story from the inside and, with the number of boxed sets strictly limited to 300, these books will almost be as rare as the hypercars themselves.

Given that such a project will inevitably have involved lots of meetings, lots of time on computers, and comparatively little actual driving during those five years, turning such raw material into book form was not an easy task.
