MG and ‘The Modern Boy’

lfred Harmsworth, the first Viscount Northcliffe, was one of the most powerful British press barons of the early twentieth century and the company that he founded, Amalgamated Press, was at one stage the world’s largest publishing concern. AP had the newspaper market sewn up with titles for ‘the masses and the classes’. Youth wasn’t forgotten, first appeared. It was more than a mere comic for, although profusely illustrated, it contained many pages of closely packed print that would be sure to put off today’s younger generation.
