In the liquidated chaos and detritus of the 2005 collapse of I my employer, Powertrain Ltd, and its primary customer MG Rover, NAC made an unconditional offer to Price Waterhouse Coopers (the Receivers) to buy all the equipment on site at Longbridge. Despite advice to the contrary, NAC was determined to restart MG TF production again for a small volume run.
A very small number of ex-MG Rover and Powertrain employees were recruited, less than 20 in all, and set to work testing and developing vehicle and engine parts that were being resourced to China.
