Clearing the way
Our tup lambs from last year are on a strip of grass I sowed at the side of the cottage a couple of years ago. It’s kept fairly green over winter thanks to the mild weather, and I am trying to keep them fairly fit, as at least one or two we will hopefully be showing this summer. We have had several shows contact us to confirm they will be going ahead, as well as some asking us to do some judging.
For the chop
When I go to feed the tups, I have to walk past our allotment where I grow the winter fodder for the sheep. I chopped the empty ground up in autumn with the disc harrows. It was nice and weed-free and clean, but with the mild weather this winter, it has sprouted and germinated, and it is now covered with nettles, chickweed and various other rubbish that has grown a foot high in places.
It is only because I have to pass it every day that has brought it to my notice. It has got like this in other years but later on into
