THE LURE OF BIG WHEELS

It seems to be the case that most vintage tractor owners originate from farming stock, but there are always some newcomers from outside the world of agriculture. It is something to celebrate when someone converts to this strange little hobby of ours. Often these new converts offer a fresh perspective on the “old iron” hobby, and indeed if our old farming machinery is to survive, we need as many people as possible, from all walks of life, to be involved in its preservation.

Urban life

Jimmy Waters has owned his grey Fergie since 2005 and it is now very much a part of the family, but as someone who grew up in London, Jimmy certainly wasn’t raised in a farming environment. Despite this urban upbringing, he was drawn to anything that had wheels, and in time that came to include tractors - even in London.
