How can I help guide her through her grief?

“There’s a uniqueness about grief that isn’t always comfortable”

Q My best friend’s mother died early on in the pandemic and I know it’s still affecting her very badly – but she refuses to even consider going to grief counselling. She says that she doesn’t want to have a stranger digging around and making things worse. It’s affecting our friendship because so many topics seem to be off-limits, such as me talking about my own mother. What can I do to help her?
