The world has changed with invention of the internet. Sure, there were always people willing to do some homemade modifications to their bikes to keep them rolling, but since the internet and YouTube came along, it’s a free-for-all in the garage mechanics.

I also find it odd that no one ever reads the owners’ manual to find out more about their bike, but will sit on the internet and YouTube the bejesus out of “How to change a fork seal using tyres levers and an 8mm spanner,” thinking they have unearthed some engineering breakthrough.
