Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to have at least R100 million in the bank and a house right on the Atlantic Ocean? It would seem like asking too much, but what if this flight of fancy could include a farm with 400 ha of unspoilt nature and 7 km of pristine private beach? And what if you could have a herd of Ngunis join you in watching dolphins and whales cavorting in the waves?

And in these cold waters may lie the remains of the VOC ship De Gouden that was lost in 1693. Or so maintain Dutch archaeologists David Bouman and Marco Roling, who came here in 2007 with two of their colleagues from the South African Heritage Resources Agency to conduct research and a second aerial survey.
