Teen spirit
eline’s creative director Hedi Slimane has long mined youth culture for inspiration, and who, Arthur Rimbaud? It comes as no surprise then that Slimane has dedicated his latest fragrance to the memory of the teenage rebel poet, having, as he puts it, ‘always wanted to create a perfume that evokes utopia, the very essence of youth’. The resulting perfume is a fragile blend of powdery lavender and iris tempered by a heady kick of neroli and musk. It is a celebration of youthful hedonism that we think is well matched by the glittering, holographic make-up of Berlin’s Uslu Airlines and London’s The Unseen. Uslu’s silver lipstick makes for standout clubwear, especially when paired with The Unseen’s reflective eye cream, which transforms under a phone camera flash from a silvery grey or matte black in real life to a reflective silver or glittery black in photos. This is teenage debauchery for a grown-up crowd.
