UKU

Thanks to hits by Jason Mraz, Train and Twenty One Pilots, the ukulele has become an integral part of pop music. Even though the Hawaiian stringed instrument is quite easy to learn, it would be handy to have its distinctive sound ready to play in your DAW. For UKU, a concert ukulele by Kala was recorded and includes a variety of articulations such as muted notes and harmonics, as well as playing and percussion sounds.

The virtual instrument for the free UVI Workstation allows, on the one hand, the monophonic or polyphonic playing of melodies. In this solo mode, you can switch between the Legato, Hammer-on / Pull-off and Slide articulations. On the other hand, you can also play very convincing rhythms with UKU. Chords played on the keyboard are automatically translated into authentic voicings. For rhythm accompaniments, the Patterns mode comes in handy, turning chords into a lively strumming rhythm.
