BANISH BODY ODOURS

Odour zone: SWEAT

Did you know the human body has approximately 3 to 4 million sweat glands? There are two types:

1 Eccrine glands are located just about anywhere there’s skin and are responsible for regulating our body temperature. The sweat they produce is mostly water and salt so doesn’t tend to produce a smell; although if you’ve been consuming garlic, strong spices, alcohol or taking antidepressants, it can take on an odour.

2 Apocrine glands, which develop at puberty, are around the groin, armpits and belly button. These glands are responsible for excreting waste and when the sweat reaches your skin and comes into contact with the microorganisms that live on healthy skin, the smell of body odour is produced.
