A FINE ARTICLE by Cameron Kirby on Gen 3 Supercars. But I feel moved to comment, on the first para… “look more like their road-going counterparts, reduce operating costs, and improve on-track racing” could all have been achieved at a fraction of the coast of developing Gen 3 by picking up an established racing category from overseas. Given the MO of Supercars has been so desperate to hang onto the past and pander to the good ol’, rustedon V8 brigade, then surely the US Trans-Am series (TA2) would have been a sitter? Same look, power, weight… Job done. And they would have been out racing now rather than delayed (again) to 2023. And as for the decision being “…the most important of Supercars’ modern, post Group A era”… perhaps. However, this is
