Mahlometela

One of the prime tasks of a Section Ranger is to ensure the conservation of the biodiversity in the 35 landscapes that make up the ecology of the Kruger National Park (KNP).

To this end each ranger is required to participate in various monitoring programmes. These include collecting daily and seasonal information on animal distribution, the presence or absence of rare species, the arrival of migratory species, reporting on disease outbreaks and recording the status of the vegetation as it changes through the seasons or due to other impacts, such as a drought or untimely fire event.
