I was diagnosed in August of 2017. I was having a shower and felt a massive ball under my left armpit. I was getting ready to go to the movies but it just kept playing on my mind. That night, I got home at midnight and texted a friend who’s a doctor. She knew straight away what it was but didn’t want to say, so told me: “Go to your GP in the morning.”

We did a scan biopsy and it was an eight-by-five-centimetre cancer that went across the chest and under the arm.
