Does that analogy make sense to anyone but myself? I don’t know but I’m running with it, and it leads me right into another questionable decision – should I take an 8,000 mile road trip to buy a car whose engine is totally apart and stored in the same bags that yer ma’ put your lunch in for school?

Yes. The answer is obviously yes. And why not do it in a brand new VW Atlas with only 8 miles on it, that I’d just finished for the SEMA show, on a set of custom one-off wheels. All of this seems like a verifiably great idea to me.
