2021 Ford Mustang 5.0 GT

It’s hard to believe, but it has been more than a year since I bought my ex-demo 2021 Twister Orange Ford Mustang GT. They say time flies when you are having fun. The 5.0-litre V8 certainly does, with a reputed 444bhp available, but circumstances have rather dictated the mileage we’ve achieved, compared with what I’d imagined prior to its purchase. Dealing with my late mother’s property, following her passing in late January 2022, has required a vehicle with considerably more space than the Mustang could ever hope to provide. As a result, our lowlier Ford Galaxy MPV has been the vehicle of choice and well up to the task.

That’s not to say we haven’t used the Mustang. Far from it. It’s a surprisingly practical car for a couple, often being used even if only for short trips. In fact, it drives so well and is so docile around town, despite the power on tap, that we find any excuse to take her out. She was used on a few
