South Africa’s pork prices continue to decline

Due to a number of market disruptions, local pork prices have declined since the beginning of the year, according to Johann Kotzé, CEO of the South African Pork Producers’ Organisation.
Between 1 January. Over the same period, the price of sows (100kg to 200kg) dropped from R22,67/kg to R19,22/kg.
