Why?

Joining a campsite staff team to work in scenic surroundings

After 23 years as enthusiastic members of Europe’s largest touring club, we thought it was time for us to go a step further and apply to join their team of Assistant Site Managers.

So before long, we found ourselves on the other side of the desk, working for the Caravan and Motorhome Club on the edge of the 500-acre nature wonderland that is Pembrey Country Park in South Wales, just one of many scenic locations in the Club network.

Now you might be wondering what enticed us into this outdoor lifestyle, involving every hands-on task from toilet scrubbing and bin emptying to grass cutting and drain cleaning.

Well, I can honestly say we not only enjoy getting our hands dirty, but we also thrive on anything related to our number one love – motorhomes!

Besides, the job brings the chance to meet a wide variety of people with the same interests, to help others, and to learn some new skills.

For me, that included reversing a tractor and trailer, while Nigel, on the other hand, found getting
