MAN’s entry in the UK was relatively low key in the early 1970s, with a single model, a 4x2 tractor unit offered from 1973, and the first appearing on the UK roads in January of the following year.
Initially, there was just one main engine type, the naturally-aspirated D2556 11-litre straight six with an output of 232hp with 810Nm of torque;
