HOW DO I JOIN A NEW YARN?

If you love making large crochet projects like garments, or colourful fabrics like striped or Fair Isle scarves, it pays to practise neat ways to join a new yarn. Whether it’s the same yarn but a new ball, or a totally different colour, I’ll show you a great all-rounder method that works for any yarn change – and the good news is, it’s really easy!

The method I’m going to show you involves joining the new yarn during a stitch. It’s best to avoid joining the new yarn during a chain, so bear that in mind if your stitch pattern includes chain spaces. When
