    WHAT YOU'LL NEED

    Yarn

    7, 9, 10, 12, 14, balls 50gm Shepherd Baby Wool Merino 8ply Colour 2957 5 buttons

    Needles

    3.25mm and 4.00mm knitting needles Cable needle Wool sewing needle

    Tension

    22 sts by 30 rows over stocking st, on 4.00mm needles to 10cm.

    Special abbreviations

    TWL = Knit into back of 2nd st (taking needle behind first st), then knit first st, slipping both sts off needle tog.

    TWR = Purl into front of 2nd st, then purl first st, slipping both sts off needle tog.

    C4B = Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and leave at back of work, K2, then K2 from cable needle.

    C3B = Slip next st onto cable needle and leave at back of work, K2, then P1 from cable needle.

    C3F = Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and leave at front of work, P1, then K2 from cable needle.

    T3B = Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and leave at back of work, K1, then K2 from cable needle.

    T3F = Slip next st onto cable needle and leave at front of work, K2, then K1 from cable needle.

    STITCH GUIDE BACK

    Using 3.25mm needles, cast on 94 (98, 102, 110, 114) sts.

    Beg Rib Band

    Row 1: K2 (0, 2, 2, 0), * P2, K2, rep from * to last 0 (2, 0, 0, 2) sts, P0 (2, 0, 0, 2).

    Row 2: P2 (0, 2, 2, 0), * K2, P2, rep from * to last 0 (2, 0, 0, 2) sts, K0 (2, 0, 0, 2).

    Rep last 2 rows 3 (4, 4, 4, 5) times. 8 (10, 10, 10, 12) rows rib in all.

    Change to 4.00mm needles.

    Beg Main Patt

    Row 1: P0 (2, 0, 0, 2), (K2, P2) 3 (3, 4, 5, 5) times, K6, P2, TWL, P3, K4, P3, TWL, (P2, K2) twice, P2, K6, P2, (K2, P2) twice, TWL, P3, K4, P3, TWL, P2, K6, (P2, K2) 3 (3, 4, 5, 5) times, P0 (2, 0, 0, 2).
