TREES FOR HEROES

THE WINDOW DECAL ON OUR TRUCK READS “A TREE FOR EVERY HERO.” THE HIGHWAY OF HEROES TREE CAMPAIGN WAS HATCHED ABOUT 8 YEARS AGO, WHEN A SMALL GROUP OF CONCERNED CANADIANS IDENTIFIED A SCHEME TO BOTH HELP SAVE THE PLANET FROM THE EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND PROVIDE A PERMANENT MEMORIAL TO THOSE CANADIANS WHO LOST THEIR LIVES DURING WAR, SINCE 1812.

As part of the campaign, 117,000 trees are being planted along the highway that provided transport for the 158 Canadian soldiers lost in the Afghan conflict.
