The therapy that changed Fran’s life

IT WAS in 1963, on her first day at The Royal College of Music, that Fran Mungovin fell down a flight of stairs, the start of decades of spinal problems.

These problems were later exacerbated throughout Fran’s nursing career due to the constant lifting of patients that her work involved.

Eventually, Fran’s back pain was diagnosed as spinal arthrosis, a condition where the cartilage between the spinal facets is worn down, causing them to rub against each other and damage the surrounding bone and tissue.
