BEAT IT!
Stepping down the ladder, my body hit the water.
Swimming a few lengths, I waited for my friends to join me.
Giving them a wave, we soon had our usual catch-up.
However, I felt butterflies in my stomach as I paddled along.
Turning to my friends, I couldn’t contain my excitement.
‘I’m pregnant,’ I smiled.
Their faces lit up and we all splashed water around in joy.
Finally telling people I was going to be a mum was an exciting feeling.
Me and my husband, Tim, 53, were both on our second marriages.
Although I loved being a step mum to Gabriella, then 20, and Annabelle, then 14, having a family of my own was always something I really wanted.
So, our little baby was definitely a long time coming.
