Many photographers admit that a vast majority of their images never make it to print. For some time, there has been a campaign to encourage photographers and digital artists to commit more of their work to paper, but even this can fail to explain the importance of creating physical image reproductions.

Of course, there is a sentimental value – there is nothing quite like holding copies of your digital images in your hands – but there is also a practical consideration. While there are some secure digital archiving tools today and longterm storage solutions, there are still some uncertainties regarding the longevity of this technology. Will your images still be safe and reusable after 300 years?
