Time attack Having just read Adam Child’s test of the new Ducati Streetfighter (AMCN Vol 71 No 14), I was left wondering how relevant have these types of tests – ie, blasting around a track – become?

Yes, it’s great to read about the bike at the limit of its performance envelope but, realistically, it’s not relevant to the end user as it doesn’t represent the real-world environment in which the bike will be used and as such answering questions like value for money, meeting design brief or even should I buy one?
