“As a youngster you grew up in Galway in the West of Ireland, so how did you come to the attention of Arsenal as a youth player?
I played Gaelic football when I was young and of course I also played soccer for my local club, Newcastle. We have an annual competition in Ireland called the Kennedy Cup where all the top schoolboy teams play. I must have impressed Arsenal’s Liam Brady, who was saw me play.
