Encrypt group chats in Facebook Messenger

Facebook – or Meta, as the company is now called – has added a useful privacy feature to its Messenger app that lets you encrypt your group chats and voice and video calls, so nobody can eavesdrop on your conversations. The new option is disabled by default, but is easy to turn on.

To start an encrypted chat with a group of friends, simply press the Compose (pencil) icon in the top-right corner of the Chats screen, switch on the padlock and select the people
