THEY WERE VERY CLOSE

IT WAS just after 6pm, prayer time in the Ndhlebe household – a time when the whole family would gather for a few quiet minutes.

But mom Zami was worried. Her son Njabulo was nowhere to be found and it was totally out of character for the 15-year-old.

“He never missed our six o’clock prayers,” Zami says. “No matter where the family is, they always come home for our daily prayers.”

Zami asked her other children if they knew where their brother was, but they had no idea either. Then, a short while later, her older son, Prince (17), showed her Facebook posts that made her blood run cold.

“People were posting messages saying, ‘RIP Njabulo’.”
