LACK OF EDUCATION — OR RESPECT?

The recent comments about ‘killing fields’ (Letters, 26 January) has stirred the blood of several local shooters. It would appear that Scotland is not the only place that excessive bags have been taken.

A few weeks ago, a pickup was seen with the rear section full of dead geese. We were reliably informed that they had been shot in Norfolk. Whoever it was who made this bag does not appear to have had any problem with the performance of non-lead shot.

May I ask what has happened to the practice of shooting driven birds in front? There was a time when a good percentage of birds were picked-up in
