How did you I grew up in Liberty, Missouri, just outside of Kansas City. I never thought of myself as artistic, even though I was creative. Growing up, I had the freedom to roam the woods, lake and pastures around my house. I made drawings, spaceships out of cardboard boxes, and cooked imaginary food. When I was nine years old, I had surgery on both feet; it left me with metal pins sticking out of my toes, and I wore hideous orthopaedic shoes.
