My Dad, Bruce Moir, contributed some photos for that amazing story you wrote back in 2018, documenting Bruce McPhee’s historic ‘68 win.
Dad and McPhee were best mates. Every Friday night, without fail, they would meet up for a sauna bath, and then head to their favourite Chinese restaurant for a couple of hours ...to discuss and try and solve the world’s problems. These two men could really debate!
I spent a lot of time with the McPhees when I was a kid. Called them Uncle Bruce and Aunty Alma – and I clearly remember 13D being prepared at Wyong Motors, being sign written and then stickered up.
Then a couple of days before the race, we were visiting him down at his workshop, and he said to my Dad and me ‘ya wanna go
