A NOTE FROM THE COLONY
A real RealClassic subscriber here, from the States. Now I know we Yanks and you Brits don’t always agree – for example there was the nasty bizz with your employment of those drinkin’ and whorin’ Hessians in the War for Independence, and then settin’ our White House on fire in the War of 1812 – how was that cricket? And lettuce not even mention how there’s a whole wide wonderful road out there and y’all insist on regularly drivin’ on the wrong side of it.
Nevertheless, regardless of which side of the road or the Atlantic we query, one thing that everybody but Frank’s old girlfriend can agree on is that RC’s Rowena can flat out write. Flat out, month after month. Form and substance. Articles or letters. Depend upon it. I’m sure you were an especially delightful delight to Miss Grammarbottom, your sixth form English teacher. And proper so. But that reminds me of yet another limey Royaltude – ‘sixth form’? Really?
Anyways, yer doin’ good. Yer doin’ really good. Scott Jenkins, member Thanks, Scott – and the other folks who’ve been kind enough to send compliments recently. I’m not sure I can entirely live up to all this enthusiasm, but I’ll definitely do my best. You guys keep sending cash, and I’ll keep scribbling… Rowena

My friend eventually grew tired of the constant plug fouling, and sold the bike to a workmate. The workmate discovered that the oil injection was set heavy for break-in. After the dealer reset the oil injection it stopped fouling. My friend was not happy!
RealClassic is my favourite motorcycle magazine, thanks for all the great reading.

VIN TWIN SPRINTS
With reference to PUB’s article mentioning John Renwick’s machines in RC213, you may be interested in these photos, taken in 1960 at Wellsbourne Mountford. Number 103 is John, and 120 is me. These were wonderful times indeed.
Great magazine, keep up the good work.

Superb shots, John.
BETTER THAN A BONNIE?
Dave Simmons wrote a great piece in RC213 about the all-round capability of his TR6P, modified to taste. I have to say I agree: they are great bikes and often underestimated when compared to the Bonneville, which is basically identical save for an extra carb and a much higher price tag. I did note his comment about selecting second
