FIRST AID ADVICE: Alistair Love says…

First aid essentials

Tracey Jones, London

Alistair says: Keep cotton wool in the kit for compression of bleeding wounds or for cleaning wounds. It also makes a soft and absorbent layer under a bandage. A bottle of Hibiscrub will be helpful for cleaning wounds (use in low concentrations) and poultice pads are always handy in a kit too, for treating corns, bruising or a hoof abscess.
