WOMAN ON THE VERGE
When Renate Reinsve was in Cannes last year, she found herself at a party attended by Timothée Chalamet. They both had movies in competition – he with The French Dispatch, her with Joachim Trier’s The Worst Person In The World – but it hardly eased her nerves. “I was so scared of talking to anyone because those are people that I’ve looked up to for so long,” she recalls. “I was standing with the bodyguards in the back, being really embarrassed.”
At that very moment, she found herself in the spotlight. “I remember this photographer was going to take a picture of Timothée Chalamet. So they asked me and the bodyguards to move and the bodyguard said, ‘You have to take a picture of her. She’s gonna to be famous, too.’ And then he took his camera up, and then he just lowered it.
