OH THE drama. Scotland trailed by five points with less than three minutes left against Ireland when Stacey Flood sent a 22m dropout their way. Two minutes and 15 seconds later – and nigh-on 20 phases – Chloe Rollie crossed to draw the scores level. With the clock in the red, Sarah Law kicked the conversion that kept Scotland’s World Cup dreams alive.

Belief is one of the three key mantras of this Scottish women’s team and it was evident that day in Parma last September, when they defied expectations to stay in the running for this year’s tournament in New Zealand while knocking out the favourites at the European qualifier.
