GREAT IDEAS FROM SMART GARDENERS

The fragrant flowers of lily-of-the-valley (Convallaria majalis) make a lovely addition to a planter in a shady spot. Claire dug up a clump just as it was about to bloom and combined it with a six-pack of pink impatiens (Impatiens walleriana) that she got for $1. After the lily-of-the-valley’s flowers faded, the impatiens filled in with season-long color.
