It will be a summer of celebrations in 2022, as the Queen becomes the first British monarch to have reigned for 70 years. With spectacular displays of pomp and pageantry, a star-studded concert at Buckingham Palace and major community events and exhibitions all in the calendar, the monarch’s incredible milestone will be marked in style across the UK.
There are plenty of ways to get involved in the festivities, from creating a pudding fit for royalty to serving at your street party or visiting one of the Queen’s homes. You could also learn a specially composed song or design a flag to be paraded through the heart of London.
The anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the throne falls on 6 February and she traditionally spends the day privately. However, the following months will see several key occasions to pay tribute to her seven decades of duty, culminating in a four-day bank holiday weekend.

PLANT A TREE FOR THE JUBILEE
As well as being a lasting reminder of her reign, The Queen’s Green Canopy’s Plant a Tree for the Jubilee campaign will also benefit future generations, turning the UK greener than ever.
If every household with a back garden planted a tree, there would be 22 million more in the country.
More than 60,000 trees have already been planted since November and more will follow before the end of planting season in March.
And last week, joined star Karen Hauer as she launched a new partnership between The Queen’s Green Canopy and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme by planting a tree with ten pupils from Burntwood
