MF135 RESTORATION

PART 3

There were very few mechanical jobs to do on Alan Braithwaite’s Massey Ferguson 135, however, noticing an oil leak from the trumpet housing meant there was remedial work required at the back end.

Where the housing bolts onto the tractor there’s a round, paper gasket that’s intended to seal in the oil from the back end of the tractor. The first job in the process of sorting this problem out was to drain the oil from the gearbox and hydraulics, although this is something that’s always replaced on any tractor that comes to me for restoration.
