Ale Hop: Why is it they say a city like any city?

he Peruvian artist Ale Hop, whose real name is Alejandra Cárdenas, explores the subject of immobility with six sound collages that move somewhere between ambient and avant-garde. She collaborated with 13 artists over the distance during the lockdown. They received messages from her that describe places in South America and served as inspiration for sound contributions such as field recordings, mouth drums, drone cellos, electronic loops, intricate rhythms and voices. Ale processed these materials into an almost 40-minute album that is supposed to expand or break the boundaries of virtual space.
