Go Green, Mamma!

A New York-based family, the Beavans, conducted an experiment for a year, starting in 2008. Colin Beavan, his wife, two-year-old daughter and dog decided to try and live a ‘zero-impact-to-the-environment’ life for 365 days in their Manhattan home. They made lifestyle changes that were initially concessions to the environment and later in the experiment, they became eco-extremists. The experiences of the family as they dealt with no trash, no carbon emissions, no plastics, no airconditioning, no television and many more aspects, are all documented in a film named ‘No Impact Man’, the success of which has also led to a blog, book and a project that aims to help others make lifestyle changes towards a greener planet.
