MAGIC IN THE SKY
As summer turns to autumn, the leaves gradually turn color and begin to fall. While it’s a time of visual splendor, it’s also a warning that the deep cold days of winter lie ahead.
In centuries past when kingdoms abounded, there were many beloved monarchs who treated their subjects with fairness, dignity, and respect. When the time came for those monarchs to go to the Great Beyond and a new king took the throne, a phrase that worked its way into our traditions was “the king is dead, long live the king.”
So, as we approach both a new year and the depths of winter, I offer a tribute to a dear friend whose days appear to be numbered — the AM radio band.
