A matter of timing

The potentially happy moment of a running motorcycle arrived one Saturday morning as the calendar clicked over into December. All the required elements were in place, these being oil and fuel in their respective tanks, a spark occurring at both spark plugs and a large boot to provide the organic starter system, so at the very least there should be some popping and banging, maybe a flame or two from the end of the exhaust pipe, as there’s no silencer fitted. The only potential cloud on the horizon could come if I have the ignition timing 180 degrees out, but swapping plug caps from one side to the other isn’t a difficult task.
