Brakes are some of the most crucial components to the safety and performance of a motorcycle. They’ve advanced hugely over recent years, with continued development constantly improving their already highly impressive performance. Unsurprisingly, they’re more complex and technical than many of us realise, and need regularly looking after to give their very best. There are a variety of braking arrangements, the most popular being hydraulically operated disc brakes which use pressure and friction to slow discs attached to the wheels. They also have the advantage of running cooler
