Perfectionists, take note: Your body is far from symmetrical – and that’s totally normal! It makes sense when you consider you favour one arm when writing or throwing.
The reality is, we develop muscle imbalances from simply living life, says trainer Kristina Centenari. “If you work a 9 to 5 and are sedentary for most of the day, you’re probably not utilising the ranges of motion in your body meant to be used daily,” she says. “And if you’re a specific type of athlete, you may overuse certain muscles and joints while ignoring others.”
