MATERIALS

• Cotton fabric: 25x25cm, white
• Stranded cotton: see Notes
• Embroidery hoop: 15cm diameter
• Basic embroidery kit

STITCHES USED

Double Loop Stitch, French Knot, Padded Satin Stitch, Satin Stitch, Seed Stitch, Split Stitch, Straight Stitch, Variated Backstitch

01 Transfer the design from the template onto the fabric using your preferred method. Work the leaves of the two ferns on the bottom-left of the design using Satin Stitch in three strands of light moss green. Fill in these leaves by bringing your needle up through the end of the leaf in the centre and reinserting it at the base. Add stitches to either side of this central stitch until the leaf is filled, with all the stitches ending at that same central point at the base
