After facing criticism for its Mk4 Zephyr and Zodiac, Ford came out fighting with the launch of the Granada Saloon at the Geneva Motor Show in 1972.
Although noticeably smaller than its last of the line Z-Car predecessor, the new model represented a big improvement in Ford’s flagship offering. While it was based on the new Consul, there was no mistaking that the Granada was a cut above its more value-focused counterpart thanks to a more luxurious specification and, most obviously, its V6 motor.
